Carl Sagan

Carl Sagan was American astronomer who also popularized research and attempted to make it more accessible to the public. Sagan dedicated his whole live in reasearch of areas like astronomy, cosmology, planetary technology, space search, and the idea of technology, but having been especially enthusiastic about the origin of life on Earth and in the potential of life in other places in the world (Astrobiology). He also proved helpful to bring technology to the open public through classes, television shows, and popular literature. In the late 1960s Sagan helped show which the variations in color within the surface around the planet Mars weren't caused by arsenic intoxication life. Previously observers of Mars acquired suggested the fact that dark, greenish areas could be vegetation of some sort. Sagan proposed which the dark areas were hillsides, which the Martian wind stripped of the finer, lighter-colored brake dust particles that accumulated in the valleys. Sagan's theory was confirmed by the Mariner 9 spacecraft's visit to Roter planet (umgangssprachlich). During the 1971s Sagan researched the present atmosphere of The planet. He examined the way that winds distributed dust throughout the atmosphere and how large amounts of dust, such as that from volcanic explosions, might impact Earth's environment. His analyze of Globe's atmosphere led him to formulate thinking about nuclear winter with American scientists Paul and Bea Ehrlich in the 1980s. Sagan and the Ehrlichs theorized that the dust and ash tossed into the atmosphere by the explosions of a nuclear war plus the ensuing fire might be so thick and widespread which it would block the Sun's light for months or years. The damage a nuclear winter would cause to seeds and Globe's ecosystems can be at least as destructive as the nuclear explosions.
